Everyone likes their daily dose of caffeine, and millennials tend to stand out in terms of their coffee preferences

More than just a cup of coffee!

● If there’s one thing millennials around the world have in common, it’s a taste for coffee. Nearly 50% of millennials opt for a cup of coffee as their first drink of the day.

● As this group makes up a major percentage of the world’s coffee drinkers, it’s a generation worth taking note of if you’re a coffee shop or roaster wanting to stay ahead.

● 51% of millennials would prefer to go on a first date and take a cup of coffee; of which, 70% would go for a Cappuccino

● Tapping into this market is crucial for business success, but it won’t happen without an understanding of what trends drive their behaviour.

● Millennials are more concerned with personal wellness than any generation before them, which may be because they have more access to information on their health than ever before.

● This concern has spilled over to their coffee consumption habits, with many seeking out decaffeinated options in an effort to keep their caffeine consumption in moderation.

● 69% of Indian millennials relate to coffee as a companion (a source of comfort to support a conversation), according to Lavazza India’s “Brewing Conversations” survey.

● Recognizing the love for coffee and value for experiences for millennials, The Mavericks organised influencer meets to celebrate love for coffee on Valentine’s Week for our client Lavazza.

● The meet saw close to 200 stories by our influencers on Instagram, garnering constant engagement!

Millennial era dating: Is an app the ideal matchmaker?

● We are in an age where we seek love through apps

● We have the possibility of an algorithm telling us if we should meet a person, creating an environment where instant gratification is instant but love and commitment are hard to come by

● 40% of people said they were comfortable with sharing personal details on dating apps without even meeting the person, revealed a new survey.

● Interestingly, 66% of women felt that the people they meet online are trustworthy

● Indian millennials are becoming progressively open-minded about the concept of online dating

● 65% of Gen Z respondents used online dating apps for casual dating

● 72% of the millennial respondents used the apps to look for friendship or companionship

● A significant number of responders do not use dating apps as it does not fit their style, or they shy away from it as they have heard negative stories around the concept (27%)
